8 Simple Success Tips That Make a BIG Difference

These simple success tips might just be everything you need to know to live an awesome life. I personally don’t like to make things too complicated, so I decided to write this article describing some of the simplest concepts I could think of when it comes to achieving more success and happiness in life.

These 8 success tips are common sense, but that does not mean that people will take them seriously. Common sense might not be that common anyway, so you will be light years ahead of the majority if you just follow these simple tips as you go through life. You might even want to bookmark this page so you can come back to it later. It will help you stay on the right track.

1. Have written goals. Please don’t overlook this crucial step

A famous study done at Harvard Business School determined that only 3% of students had clearly written goals. 13% had goals, but they weren’t written down. 10 years later, the same class of students was interviewed. The 13% of students who had goals were earning on average twice as much as the 84% of students who had no goals at all. And the 3% of students who had clearly written goals…they were earning on average 10 times as much as the other 97% COMBINED!

If this study doesn’t convince you to write down some goals for yourself, then I’m concerned for you. In all seriousness, it is ESSENTIAL that you set goals for yourself and WRITE THEM DOWN. This will massively increase your chances of achieving success. Why? Because a clear goal is a clear target. Without that target, you wouldn’t know what to aim for, and so you’d never hit it! Write down your goals TODAY! Do not hesitate.

2. Read books and listen to audio programs (especially on commutes)

We used to live in a world where TIME was $$$. Most people still trade their time for money, but the world we live in is changing rapidly. Now we live in a world where KNOWLEDGE = $$$. You no longer need to trade your time for money as long as you have enough valuable knowledge to share. This is why self-education is so essential. The more time you spend educating yourself, the better your chances for success will be later on. This doesn’t mean you need to go to college. Learning is a lifelong practice that doesn’t require a classroom. The one who goes through life like a student almost always sees greater success.

If you commute to work every day, you need to be using that time wisely. Almost all the successful people I have known and/or studied do NOT listen to the radio in their car. They listen to educational audio programs instead. You would be wise to do the same!

3. Negativity breeds more negativity

When you are kind, you feel good. When you’re not, you feel bad. You may believe that some people don’t deserve to be treated well, but ask yourself, “who am I really hurting by not being kind?” The answer is YOU ARE ONLY HURTING YOURSELF! What you do to another you also do to yourself. Treating other people badly is really just a reflection of how you feel about yourself. Start loving others and you’ll find that it becomes much easier to love yourself.

More opportunities will come your way when you are kind to others. People will actually want to help you when you need it. They will support you on your journey. You will make friends everywhere you go. Remember that no man is an island. You NEED other people. Treat others like they are important. Even the people you don’t like can teach you a lot about yourself. The world is your mirror.

4. Get healthy. Whole foods and daily exercise will give you the energy you need to chase your dreams

The first thing I ever consciously tried to improve in my own life was my health, and I must say it has made a HUGE difference in the quality of my life. I have tons of energy and I can think very clearly. I feel motivated almost every single day. Whenever I slip back into poor eating habits, I immediately notice the difference. I feel lazy, lethargic, and unmotivated. Once you know what health feels like, you’ll never go back to your old ways for very long.

I could talk about nutrition and fitness all day long, but I decided to just make a complete health guide and 7-day meal plan for you to make things easier. It covers the basics of proper nutrition and exercise. I think you’ll find it very helpful. Just sign up here to get a free copy.

5. Leave your comfort zone. It’s the only way to grow

Those who never take risks in life never improve much either. Each day looks pretty much the same and they get bored with life very quickly. They live a life of steady decline. This could all be avoided if they just decided to leave their comfort zones and face their fears. Most people run from their fears, not realising that fear is actually something you want to run towards in most cases. Facing your fears head on allows you to overcome them and grow into a more capable person. It is the key to living an exciting life of steady improvement and lots of fulfilment.

If you want to live your dreams, you will have to face uncertainty. You will have to take a few leaps of faith. It is not always pleasant in the beginning, but the reward is almost always worth it. Don’t live with regrets. Take chances. You never know what amazing things it could lead to.

6. Learn to say NO. Set priorities and stay true to yourself

Everyone has an opinion on how you should live your life. Even your closest friends will try to pressure you into doing things that you really don’t want to do. It is essential that you maintain your strength of character and learn how to say no to the things that aren’t aligned with your own values. You might even lose some friends, but that is not a bad thing. You can’t afford to spend your time with people who are living a lifestyle completely different from what you truly desire for yourself. It is sure to bring misery. You MUST be true to yourself.

When I turned 21 years old, I started drinking alcohol almost every weekend. I did this for about a year until I realized that it was becoming a huge hinderance. I was not achieving the goals I had set for myself because my attention was on things that were moving me in the opposite direction. I decided to stop drinking alcohol for a while. I and some friends grew apart, but I refused to let other people influence my decision. I decided my future was more important than partying every weekend, and here I am today, not regretting a thing.

7. Take consistent action towards achieving your goals, even if it’s only tiny steps

It is the small steps you take over time that create BIG results. It is easy to get discouraged when success does not come as quick as you want it to, but it is important to remember that it WILL come as long as you continue taking action every single day. As long as you are doing something to move towards your goals each day, then you can rest assured that you will reach them eventually.

Keep track of the small, positive things you do each day in a journal. This will keep your spirits high and remind you that you are heading in the right direction. It will encourage you to do more and more as time goes by. Keeping track of the small “wins” is a great way to increase your productivity and motivation. It’s like giving yourself an encouraging pat on the back, which is usually enough to keep you moving forward. Your future is bright!

8. Get comfortable being alone. You need to love yourself more.

Lack of success stems from a lack of self-love. The more you love yourself, the more confident you will feel. You won’t hesitate to follow your heart and face your fears because when you love yourself fully, you know that you deserve the very best that life has to offer. You go after what YOU want, not what others want for you. Others may love you, but that love can never replace the love you have for yourself. Self-love requires one person and one person only: you.

Unfortunately, most people spend all their time searching for love outside of themselves. They desire love from others and base their own worth on the number of love others give them. It is natural to want love from the people we care about, but that love is not required for us to feel good about ourselves. We must learn to be alone and not depend on others for our happiness. As long as we depend on others for our own fulfilment, we will continue to seek without ever being satisfied.

Love yourself first. Only then will you be able to give love to others. And when you give love away, it comes back to you.

These are some simple success tips that are profound nonetheless. Although they are common sense, not many common people practice them. Those who do will see great success in due time. I hope that you are one of them!
